Change can be such a scary word for some, but to me it’s FUN!!!! Nothing stokes my fire more than a positive change! Okay, so I’m getting ready to have another birthday…52 years to be exact, and I’m always looking for a way to change. Maybe it’s time to spice up YOUR life and change something about YOURself!
I’ll never forget the day I discovered eye shadow. I was 13 years old attending 7th grade at my Jr. High school. Yes!! I had graduated from the Little Leagues to, what I considered at the time, “The BIG leagues!”
Just a few weeks before I started 7th grade, I went to a garage sale in one of my friends’ neighborhoods. The lady holding the sale was a cosmetologist. She had “used” make-up for sale and I found a brown eye shadow that I thought was so crazy dark that I decided to buy it for 5 cents!
It really wasn’t until about the 2nd week of school that I got brave and decided to wear it. I would always show up for school early so I could sit on the steps leading to the front door of the school and chat “with the people”. That day, (more…)

My Plastic Surgeon’s Advice… was for me to get a total and complete blethroplasty! What?! Come on, really?! Okay, let me start from the beginning because I have so many of my loyal clients asking my advice on Facial Plastic Surgery.
I had noticed a small brown spot on my right shin that through up a red flag. Just to get it checked out, I scheduled an appointment with a plastic surgeon that did a scar revision on my arm a few years ago, and I thought he did a great job. The doctor was flanked by a pretty young lady standing beside him taking notes. Some men and women would run to buy a new miracle product that has been proven to keep your skin looking as young as possible for as long as possible. And some of you will also say to yourself, “That product just doesn’t and will never exist.” Well, you’re wrong.
The miracle anti-aging product that most of us already have on hand is…. You guessed it, sunscreen. Sun damage, or Photo Damage, is the #1 cause of the appearance of aged skin. It breaks down your collagen and elastin production causing skin to sag, droop, and wrinkle. Sun damage also causes dark spots, freckling and uneven skin tone, or “hyperpigmentation” that can be buried deep within your skin layers and show up years later. Of course there is always the looming dark cloud of skin cancer that can pop up on you.
Using SPF, or skin care products containing SPF, is really the best way to insure your beautiful skin to stay fit for longer. (more…)

Acne is genetic. Thus when both parents suffer from acne, three out of four of their children are likely to share the same problem… Because acne is a dominant gene. Virtually 100% of boys and 90% of girls suffer from acne, at least occasionally. But men and women of all ages can be affected so that, even if you were among the lucky few who missed the curse of acne as teenagers, you may still run into trouble later on. More than 50% of people over 25 experience acne break-outs well into their 40’s and beyond.
There are several different types of acne. 95% of all acneis called Acne Vulgaris. This occurs when a channel from which a hair follicle has emerged, or is about to emerge, becomes blocked. The sebaceous gland attached to the lower part of that follicle continues to produce its oily sebum. But since the clog stops the sebum from emerging, it stays inside the channel and expands into a balloon full of the stuff! Before long, the sebum (warm, oily and nutritious) attracts bacteria and starts to putrefy. The result is a nasty pimple!
