My own father was very reluctant to get spa treatments when I became an esthetician 15 years ago. He is an “old-school” kind of guy…raised in an era when men never got these types of treatments. At first, I had to talk him in to it…but now he is not only comfortable getting treatments, he actually looks forward to them! He leaves feeling refreshed, with unclogged pores and with younger, healthier looking skin.

Pumpkin is rich in essential vitamins and nutrients necessary for healthy and radiant skin.
Pumpkin is good for all skin types, especially the ones born in the ‘baby oil era’ who now suffer from hyperpigmentation. It is rich in vitamin A (retinol), which soothes and softens your skin, and vitamin C (an antioxidant that can help to remedy damage produced by free radicals).

Hyperpigmentation- Darkening of the skin in areas due to sun exposure, a wound, inflammation, acne or injury. Hyperpigmentation can be temporary or permanent. Also known as sun spots, age spots, liver spots, or larger areas of hyperpigmentation can occur during pregnancy, known as melasma. Common Treatments: Skin lightening serum or cream like Visual Changes Lightening Serum daily and facial treatments like chemical peels, microdermabrasion and Photo Rejuvenation based on your esthetician’s advice.

“Summer really jacks with my skin! I stay out of the sun as much as possible…wear a hat… use a high SPF Sunscreen… I’m always searching for shade! My skin feels really rough and dry… I mean really sandpaper-like. And I always feel like my nose is so red and is ready to explode off my face! This is a scenario I put together from the many different clients that have come to me with this typical summer skin problem. The answer is skin treatments and nutrition. As a kid, our loving parents doled out the fruity flavored chewable vitamins before breakfast or bedtime, and we gladly chomped away at them as more of a treat than a chore. Things are not as easy these days.
Most of us don’t have a handy assistant ready to give us our daily intake of vitamins, and prepare our well-balanced meals for the day. It’s easy to forget about putting proper nutrition and vitamins in our bodies to fuel us for our busy lives, and treat our bodies well.
Good nutrition is key in having healthy and glowing skin. If you want a beautiful garden, you fertilize the soil to make it rich and ready to grow big beautiful plants. Well, your skin is the plant and vitamins are the fertilizer! We are all really good at applying our anti-aging creams and getting our facials every month, but we forget about what goes in must come out.

Acne is genetic. Thus when both parents suffer from acne, three out of four of their children are likely to share the same problem… Because acne is a dominant gene. Virtually 100% of boys and 90% of girls suffer from acne, at least occasionally. But men and women of all ages can be affected so that, even if you were among the lucky few who missed the curse of acne as teenagers, you may still run into trouble later on. More than 50% of people over 25 experience acne break-outs well into their 40’s and beyond.
There are several different types of acne. 95% of all acneis called Acne Vulgaris. This occurs when a channel from which a hair follicle has emerged, or is about to emerge, becomes blocked. The sebaceous gland attached to the lower part of that follicle continues to produce its oily sebum. But since the clog stops the sebum from emerging, it stays inside the channel and expands into a balloon full of the stuff! Before long, the sebum (warm, oily and nutritious) attracts bacteria and starts to putrefy. The result is a nasty pimple!
