Miss Nebraska USA 2012 – Amy Spilker!

On October 30, 2011, Amy Spilker had her dream come true when she was crowned Miss Nebraska USA 2012. Persistence, patience, and perseverance were the keys to her success as she competed four years for the title. With the title Amy plans to do as much as she can this year working with several organizations. She has been involved with the non-profit organization, Girls on the Run, for four years and enjoys empowering and inspiring young girls to be confident individuals and to set their goals high. Amy Spilker is currently a junior at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, majoring in Advertising and Public Relations with a minor in Marketing. Amy is from the small town of Malcolm, Nebraska – with only a little over 400 people! After finishing her education Amy’s ultimate goal is to work in the public relations and marketing field. She currently works for the local daily deals company, Zing!Town as their writer and designer. When she is not making appearances across the state, working, or attending class she enjoys reading, swimming, hiking, and spending time with her 3 brothers!

 

 

Miss Nebraska USA 2011 – Haley Herold!

On the night of Sunday, October 24, 2010, before an audience at the beautiful Rococo Theatre in Lincoln, Haley Herold was crowned as the 2011 Miss Nebraska USA.  Haley graduated from the University of Nebraska at Omaha with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communications after graduating high school early to study at The Spanish Language Institute in San Jose, Costa Rica.  She is the oldest daughter of Bob and Sondra and has two siblings, sister Kiley and brother Riley. Growing up Haley participated competitively in dance, swimming, basketball, volleyball, and Olympic Development soccer. Through age 12, Haley spent part of each year traveling to different locations across the country with her parents, as her father was a professional baseball coach. During those years she had opportunity to get to know professional baseball players her father coached, Mike Sweeney, Carlos Beltran and Michael Jordan among others.  Haley enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading a good book, exercising, and has had opportunities to model in Latin America.

In her year as Miss Nebraska USA, Haley is working with the Adam Herold Memorial Fund, a foundation that is set up in honor of her cousin who was killed while serving his country in Iraq. Since 2007, contributions to the fund have supported The Wounded Warrior Support Group, Homes For Our Troops (an organization that builds adapted houses for severely wounded veterans and their families), and the St. Cecilia Education Fund.

 

 

Miss Nebraska USA 2010 – Belinda Wright!

Belinda Wright is currently a senior at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln, majoring in Textile Design and Mass Communications/Advertising. She grew up in the small town of Scotia, Nebraska, graduating from North Loup Scotia High with only fourteen people! After finishing graduate school, her ultimate career goals are to work internationally in the public relations department of a major fashion magazine. Presently she writes for “This Season” a mini magazine, works for the University’s newspaper, takes care of a disabled woman, models, and manages to stay active on campus and volunteering within the community. With the job of Miss Nebraska USA, she plans on helping young people focus on the importance of education and believing in themselves, while encouraging women to succeed in reaching their aspirations. A few of her favorite pastimes are running, drawing, traveling, dancing, sewing, photography, camping, baking, and trying new foods.

 

 

Miss Nebraska USA 2009 – Meagan Winings!

On the evening of January 11, 2009, in Norfolk, Nebraska, an enthusiastic audience welcomed Miss Sandhills, Meagan Winings, as the new Miss Nebraska USA 2009. Meagan was born and raised in Atkinson, Nebraska. The 23-year-old is a graduate of Pepperdine University and now attends law school in Chicago, where she is in her first year. Meagan is working toward her J.D. in the hopes of eventually becoming involved in International Law and human rights issues. She is a 1L representative of Phi Alpha Delta and is a member of both the Chicago Advocates and Women in Law. In addition, Meagan is an editor on the Journal of International and Comparative Law. This summer, she will be working at one of the most respected personal injury law firms in Chicago, Cooney and Conway. Meagan has also been actively involved with the Open Door Mission, the Special Olympics and the Susan G. Komen Foundation. In her free time, Meagan enjoys working out, trying new restaurants and shopping. She loves snowboarding, jet skiing, traveling and spending time with family and friends. She was Miss Nebraska Teen USA 2004 and was the first Nebraska teen to finish in the Top 10 at Miss Teen USA. Meagan is the only child of Gerald and Michelle Winings, who currently reside in Atkinson, Nebraska.

 

 

Miss Nebraska USA 2008 – Micaela Johnson!

We’re extremely proud and very excited to introduce to you… Micaela Johnson, Miss Nebraska USA 2008! Micaela competed in the Miss Nebraska pageant October 28th in Norfolk, and we are very pleased to announce that she has won the title of Miss Nebraska USA 2008! Micaela is also the first contestant in over 20 years to have won the title on her first try! Micaela had chosen Kimberly Spa as one of her key sponsors. She will be continue to receive all of her skin and nail care from us. We know she will represent us well because of her already outstanding resume and experience. Micaela was born January 1 in Dallas, Texas.  At the age of 3, she moved to Omaha and was raised here. Micaela began taking acting lessons at the age of 7, and at the age of 13 landed her first lead role in the local production of “Magnus Fourpenny”. At the same time, she spent many hours in local dance studios and attended Marian H.S. here in Omaha. She was honored with the title of “Nebraska Cheerleader of the Year” in 2003! During the spring of her senior year at Marian, she auditioned for the world-famous Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. At the tender age of 18, Micaela was chosen and moved to Dallas…joining an organization that would change her life! She was also the youngest Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader ever chosen. During her 2 years as a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader, she was blessed with the good fortune of many wonderful experiences. Besides cheering on the Dallas Cowboys on the Texas Stadium sidelines, she was a member of the renowned DCC “Show Group”…making appearances all over the U.S. Those appearances included The Today Show, Larry King Live, The View and Barney just to name a few.  As a DCC, she was also able to travel the world, making appearances with the USO Tour.  Her travels took her from Korea to Europe…entertaining our brave men and women in the Armed Forces.  This was an experience that will last her a lifetime. While holding the title of Miss Nebraska USA 2008, Micaela will continue to persue her acting career, which is her first love. Her most recent film was co-starring with Amanda Bynes in “Sydney White”.  She plays a girl named “Jane”. She has appeared in a total of 10 films to date and is currently pursuing her career with vigor! We’re very pleased to have Micaela join the team of winners at Kimberly Spa!
