Skin Care for Waxing

April 01st, 2010

Many of our clients have wondered what kind of special “skin care” they should do around the areas they wax.  Whether it’s a simple brow wax or a full Brazilian wax, your skin always needs to be cared for.  Here are some skin tips for a great wax:Body Waxing Treatments

~Don’t sunbathe or use a tanning bed 24 hours before or after your waxing appointment to avoid irritation.

~Body hair should have about 2-3 weeks of growth before it can be waxed.  If you can grab it with your fingers, chances are the wax be able to grab it, too.

~Don’t plan on wearing tight jeans or going to a vigorous work out after your wax.  This can irritate the area more than neccessary.

~Are you a wuss about waxing?  No problem.  Use Relax & Wax No Scream Cream 30-45 minutes prior to your appointment time.  It’s easy to apply, just rub fast until it turns white, then let it absorb.

~If you have some redness or irritation after your wax, try Visual Changes Hydrocortisone Cream 2% to reduce the effects.

~To prevent in-grown hairs around the bikini area, exfoliate daily with Relax & Wax Scrub Me Lucious.

~Try Relax & Wax Get the Bump Outta Here! for persistantly bumpy and red waxing areas.

~Don’t ever wax any part of your body when taking acne medications, using Retin-A, AHA, BHA, or Resorcinol!  This can result in “skin lifting” and possible scarring.

~To keep your wax results looking smoother for longer, try Kalo Hair Growth Inhibitor Cream.
